April 30, 2025 at the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, Augusta, GA Town Committee Dinner

To begin with, to land the good fortune of having a United States President in your midst is hardly nor adequately describable. And, then, to have the very honorable James Madison, a president and a founding father of our country, before you is nothing less than a treasure as he is an indisputable national treasure.  That knowledge is artfully and eloquently delivered in Lou Magill's portrayal of our 4th president, such that you are willingly and easily taken through the time machine to the desk and quill of President Madison. You will feel, undeniably, that you are standing alongside the President in thought, word, and deed such that you can't get enough of that historical statesman. That our history portrays him as the honorable, revered man that he was is very real and transparent when Mr. Magill enters a room as James Madison. As we approach the 250th Celebration of the founding of our country, the United States of America, I highly recommend that you invite Mr. Madison along for the ride!

Hi Miss Bettie,

Thank you, thank you and thank you!!  I am assuming you invited our speaker. If you didn’t, kudos to whoever did.  Our speaker, aka: President James Madison, was, in my opinion, one of the most engaging speakers I have heard at DAR. His presentation, his authentic impersonation of President Madison before and after his presidency, his spontaneous knowledge of the such interesting facts, many of which I had never known, was so natural it was as if he had actually lived during that period. If anyone speaks to him, please pass on my compliments.

Tonight was a delightful evening.

January 21 - 24, 2025

“The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America – Florida hired Lou Magill to portray President James
Madison for our 20th Annual Historical Actor Week in Jacksonville from January 21-24, 2025.  Mr. Madison was a huge success as he entertained over 1000 4th and 5th graders during three separate shows.  As part of the show students were asked, and eagerly agreed, to participate as historic characters in a reenactment of the Constitutional Convention and in the Battle of Bladensburg in the War of 1812.  Mr. Madison also performed for adults in two performances: one pertaining to his political life and the other on his relationship with his beloved wife Dolley.  Again, both of these shows were very well received and highly educational.  Mr. Magill has researched Mr. Madison well and portrays him with passion and finesse.  He added many clever touches to both his adult and student performances, was a pleasure to work with and comes highly recommended from our organization.”

"The Greater Orlando Town Committee of the National Society of Colonial Dames had the pleasure of hosting Lou Magill at our April 2024 membership meeting. As a historical organization, we have seen many reenactors, and Lou’s portrayal of James Madison was excellent.  In addition to his knowledge of Madison’s life and presidency, Lou creates the perfect mood with his costuming and set to bring James Madison to life! I highly recommend Lou Magill for an entertaining and educational performance."
